Off for a break - with the right travel hygiene in your luggage

The winter vacations are just around the corner in many places. Whether it's the first rays of sunshine in the south, the last snow-covered slopes in the mountains or somewhere in between - little adventures are waiting. Breaking out of the daily routine and making a change from the dull greyness of winter everyday life. To enjoy your vacation carefree and return without bringing back an illness as an unwanted souvenir, you should, however, keep a few small things in mind when it comes to travel hygiene.

Germs when travelling

Whether at the airport, on the train, in front of the ski lift or at service stations - when many people set off on a journey, larger crowds also come together. As a result, surfaces are touched by a wide variety of people, who can also leave behind a germ or pathogen or two. Ticket machines at the train station, door knobs on the train, tables in airports, public toilets - coming into contact with uninvited pathogens and germs is almost inevitable, especially when traveling. This is normally no problem for a healthy immune system, but it still appreciates a little support through proper hand cleaning and hand sanitising.

Do not forget to wash your hands

During the early stages of the Coronavirus pandemic, it became clear that proper hand washing is a fundamental defence mechanism for our immune system. If germs picked up from surfaces are washed away by proper washing behavior, our hands are no longer carriers of infections. This protects us and others. Do you remember the gudelines? Wash your hands for at least as long as it takes to sing "Happy Birthday" and don't forget the spaces between your fingers. In many places you can also find soaps that disinfect and care at the same time, for a super simple and effective hand hygiene.

Disinfection made easy

Placing sanitisers in public spaces has been standard practice since the pandemic, and using them has become second nature to us. Though they can be found in many places, it is also worth carrying small sanitising wipes or on-the-go bottles just in case. That way you can begin your holiday, knowing that your hands, the table on the train and even the surfaces in the hotel room are clean, with just one wipe. Because let's be honest, we all need a bit of relaxation, and we'd like it to be germ-free!
