Halloween and hand sanitiser – trick or treat?

Halloween, the beloved festival of costumes, sweets and spooky decorations, has developed into a major event that is celebrated with enthusiasm worldwide, including more and more in Germany. Spooky decorations, funny parties and the traditional ringing of the doorbell at neighbourhood doors are part of the new tradition in many places. At the end of October, however, the eerily beautiful festival also falls in the middle of the cold season, which flares up again and thus carries a few risks of increased infection. We have put together some tips and tricks to prevent unwanted viruses and bacteria as much as possible.

Sanitiser at any place, at any time

Everyone knows the unpleasant feeling of having to walk around with unclean hands because there is no toilet or sink nearby. Especially during the "trick or treat" run with the little ones, we ring the bell at countless doors and touch many hands as well as numerous surfaces. In order not to carry all the viruses in the neighbourhood around with you, it is worth taking hand sanitiser that you can use on the go. So you are always prepared and can collect sweets with a clear conscience.

Celebrate, but safely

Many people attend Halloween parties, where they naturally come into close contact with other guests in the fun of the celebration. Especially when you mingle with people, dance and eat food together, the risk of virus transmission increases. Simply providing hand sanitiser at such events can reduce the likelihood that guests will take home more than just fond memories. Cleverly placed wipes, or bottles of sanitiser can encourage the party crowd to sanitise their hands while dipping in and out of buffet selections.

Don't forget surfaces

Visitors to an event often touch the same props, handrails and doorknobs during an evening, which can cause germs to spread quickly. It is therefore important not only to pay attention to hand sanitising, but also to ensure that surfaces are disinfected regularly. The sanitisers used for this purpose should always have an alcohol base and have an alcohol content of at least 60%. These remedies are most effective at killing germs.
